ICSPHS 2023

The International Conference on Social Psychology and Humanity Studies (ICSPHS 2023) was a hybird conference which includes several workshops (offline and online) around the world. Prof. David Mitchell from George Washington University, Prof. Mallen from Sam Houston State University, and Dr. Nafhesa Ali from Northumbria University have chaired these workshops on related topics. ICSPHS 2023 provided the participants with good opportunities to exchange ideas and build networks, and it will lead to further collaborations between both universities and other societies.

As a satellite event of the ICSPHS 2023 |International Conference on Social Psychology and Humanity Studies, the offline Workshop organized by George Washington University (Washington, USA)was held on April 13, 2023. With the topic of the Disposable Humanity. Prof. David T. Mitchell from George Washington University chaired the Workshop, aiming to gain insights into two themes: (1) how to think aboutthe Aktion T4 program and related histories in the field of Disability Studies; (2) how can one know the in-depth history of an atrocity with no survivors. The participants had spirited debates and in-depth discussions about subjects like "euthanasia murders, history, disability and holocaust". As a satellite event of the ICSPHS 2023 | International Conference on Social Psychology and Humanity Studies, the offline Workshop organized by Sam Houston State University (Huntsville, USA)was held on March 23, 2023. With the topic of the Language Development Issues, Intercultural Competence and Critical Thinking. Prof. Enrique Mallen from Sam Houston State University chaired the Workshop, aiming to gain insights into two themes: (1) how to practice critical thinking and realize cultural diversity; (2) how to understand changes in the vowel and consonant system from Latin to Modern Spanish. The participants had spirited debates and in-depth discussions about subjects like "Phonology, Morphology, Linguistic, and cultural diversity". Northumbria University, UK

Organizer: Dr. Nafhesa Ali,Lecturer in Northumbria University

The workshop was Chaired by Dr. Nafhesa Ali and included a guest talk and roundtable discussion with Professor Kathryn Cassidy from the Geography Department at Northumbria University. It was hosted during International Women's Day (IWD) week. Kathryn's research focuses on situated intersectionality and the border and we had some fruitful discussions around migration, intersectionality, and legislation, which broached upon NHS practice and policy. The workshop took an intersectional approach examining migration at the intersections of gender, race and ethnicity, and the roundtable discussion explored topics such as how to nurture relationships between those involved in research, recognition of language and negotiations of power through political spaces or everyday understandings. By the end of the workshop participants were able to understand the use and application of inclusive research methods, and how to engage with it in their own research to increase knowledge around the inclusion of a range of diverse voices.

Online Session

The online session of the International Conference on Social Psychology and Humanity Studies (ICSPHS 2023) was held on April 24, 2023. Professor Enrique Mallen from Sam Houston State University, Professor David T. Mitchell from George Washington University, Dr. Nasir Mahmood from University of Sialkot, Dr. Nafhesa Ali from Northumbria University, and Dr. Abdullah Laghari from Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology have given keynote speeches on related topics of Psychology, Sociology, Humanities, etc. Also, we invited authors of qualified papers to deliver oral presentations at the Online Session. Ten authors have presented their studies of linguistic, socio-economy, psychology, etc. Questions from the audience were collected and answered by the presenters.
